Chance me please!!!

i took the SAT and the TOEFL this year...and got the following results:
SAT : 1830(CR-600;Math-680;WR-550)
TOEFL iBT - 110</p>

<p>I will be taking the SAT sub test this December....
i will applying to the following colleges....

<p>Extra - Curricular:</p>

<p>Not much actually...i participated in some debates,quizzes, play etc. in class 10. Cant remember anything else.....
NSTSE 2010 state Rank - 49
took part in RMO....</p>

<p>Scholastic Achievements :
Secured CGPA 10 in class 10 boards.
Received merit certificates from KVS and Commissioner, along with a personal appreciation letter from Union Home Minister Kapil Sibal.</p>

<p>What are my chances if i get roughly above the 700s in my Sub tests....and will it help if my essays and recommendations are outstanding enough good?? also i need fin aid...a lot of it maybe 90-100 per cent. PLease help!!!!</p>

<p>Difficult to say. These colleges aren’t as difficult to get into as the Ivies, etc. but the combination of you being Indian and your low SAT score might make it tricky, certainly to colleges like Oberlin and Colgate.</p>

<p>For an Indian, >700s on Subject Tests, especially if those subject tests are in Math, Physics, and Chem, isn’t very impressive. I’ve seen 100s of people pass through here with 800s on all of them, so you should be shooting for that top mark. It isn’t that difficult, you just need to get 85% of the questions right and you can still keep 800.</p>

<p>I’m very glad to see that you are very sincere with your ECs. I can’t say the same for many people around here. I would advise you to somehow talk about how the few ECs you did affected you, or how you discovered some hidden fact about yourself/showed leadership, etc. during them at some point in your application. Most ECs are pointless unless you can do that. Good luck.</p>
