I was wondering my chances for UCF, USF, and FSU for the fall of 2013. I'm going to be a math major and I am from New Jersey. Here are my scores and extracurriculars:

Captain of the Varsity Volleyball team at my high school, varsity member for 3 years.
President of Children's Specialized Hospital Club
Member of Westfield-Plainfield Connection Club (Every week we'd visit an underprivileged elementary school and hang out with the kids.)
Competitive club volleyball for 5 years. 2 years on national team.

I applied 5 weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. Should I be nervous?

In my opinion, the 3.2 GPA is definitely a hindrance but not an automatic disqualification. As previously stated, don’t expect any acceptance offer in the near future and hopefully in February, when openings become available, at that time, you “may” be offered a spot. Good Luck!

Thanks so much everyone! ilovethe47, I’ve also met with one of the admissions counselors when he was here in NJ and they know it’s my top choice. I wrote my essay on what I love about the school and how it’s my number one. Do you think that’ll help at all? (This is for UCF btw)

I agree with ilovethe47 that GPA is holding you back a little, but is it weighted or UW? I think right now it could be classified as a match though if that is not weighted and you took AP/dual enrollment/IB… If that is the recalculated though, I think it’s a reach. Good luck!
