I think it's important to note that GT only looks at ACT Math and English sections so the 28 composite score won't be used in their admissions process. Also, I immigrated to the US in 8th grade and was even taking ESOL classes at one point. Combine this with the upward trend in my GPA, and I think that this could really help me. I am also talking about this in my college essays.

Please be completely honest in your posts! Its time for some hard truth..

Eddie - I’m not sure… Have you looked at the SAT II scores of the kids who got accepted EA sent in? I’m not clear what ranges are good to sent in for SAT II’s. I wouldn’t think it would hurt to send it in and it may help. But I’d see what some other people think first.

I looked at the EA results thread and most of the acceptees have 700+ SAT2’s. But there are applicants who got in without submitting any, so I think I would be better off by not reporting that score. Moreover, I don’t have straight A’s in all of my math classes, so I think submitting that score will only hurt me :/

From my understanding, since GaTech is a public school, I believe they are bound to accepting more applicants In-State than OOS. They probably just follow State/Fed laws like any other public institution. By this, you’ll probably be at a disadvantage compared to In-state.

You’re IB so take into account that 80.5% of IB kids get in so don’t sweat it! :)

FraNeighbor, you have no idea how relieved I am by seeing those statistics! Haha nice find! And congratulations for getting into Ga Tech class of 2017! Go Yellow Jackets!
