<p>Applying to: Lawrenceville, Hotchkiss, Choate, Deerfield for 10th grade
Grades: 8th grade GPA was a 3.0/4 UW 4/4 W(All Honors classes)
9th grade GPA was a 3.5/4 UW 3.7 W(3 out of my 5 classes are 10th grade classes)
SSAT: 87%
School: Known as one of the better private schools in MA
EC: Some schools I am a baseball recruit
Lots of community service
Did a lot of theatre in middle school
Play basketball and football
Do a lot of arts like printmaking and drawing
I take programming class
Recs: Advisor Rec is excellent
Personal Rec is excellent
English Rec is excellent
Math Rec im not sure
Essays: I am a pretty good writer. I think they are very well written essays.
Hooks: Full pay applicant
MA is an under represented state at Lawrenceville. Hotchkiss said they are trying to get more kids from MA this year.
Interview: I did an amazing job on all my interviews. </p>

<p>Please tell me how my chances are. Do I still have a chance with a below average GPA?</p>

<p>All your stats look fine.</p>

<p>But keep in mind that your least selective school, Lawrenceville, is still ULTRA-SELECTIVE, with an admit rate of less than one-in-four applicants. Think of what other important things in your life you would depend on with only a one-in-four chance of happening. Deerfield is one-in-eight.</p>

<p>I would not depend on being from MA to be a hook. MA is not exactly exotic like South Dakota.</p>
