Chance me please?

Actually I'm looking for advice more than an actual chance, but I'll get to that later. First my stats.

Note I am a Junior
SAT: 2390
SAT ii: 800 in Bio M
AP: 5 AP Bio, 5 APUS
GPA: Will probably be around a 3.95 unweighted by application time
No ranking system
Course Load: As rigorous as it can be basically.

USA Biology Olympiad Semifinalist
Several Science Olympiad Medals at regional, invitational and state levels
Future Problem Solving State Medalist (2nd place and went to International)
Merck Science Day 6th in State Biology Test
Probably will be NMS+AP Scholar

Activities & Interests:

South Asian American Student Association Club (SAASA-Choreographed and performed dances for fund raisers) (10th,11th)
Science Olympiad (9th,10th,11th)
Future Problem Solving (member) (9th, 10th, 11th)

ModelCongress Part time job as waiter

Community Service:

Chinese School Volunteer (will be around 150 hours)
Lab Assistant for AP Bio Class

Stuff I think I'll have by application time:
Officers for SAASA, FPS, SO, maybe school treasurer too, and I'll be taking a course at Princeton. Oh and some kind of research over the summer, maybe like NIH.

Ethnicity: Asian Male, I guess lower middle class

Okay so now my questions. My first choice is Yale, but I'm aware that my application will not be the most impressive. Should I try SCEA to Yale, or commit myself to a school like Columbia, Upenn (not warton, cause I'll be going for med), JHU or Brown (Not for 8 year med) through an ED and try to take advantage of the raise in acceptance rates? I probably will change my mind a lot through the next year, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

And, with a file like that, I believe it is best to apply to a 8-year med on top of that, as well as a safety.

I personally think you have a great enough chance to apply to Yale scea

@Catria, I thought about it, but I decided I’m yet undecided exactly what I want to do with med. I may choose to go into biomedical research, depending how I feel in a few years.

@hpsycm could you explain your reasoning? I don’t have any relatives that went to college in the US, so I actually don’t have lots of knowledge on application process. Is my app really at the level of Yale students?

You have some great stats,I would put your chances at yale 50 50.Definitely apply to that and some other ivies and i have little doubt you will get into at least one.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I do intend to apply to the other ivies I mentioned for RD (and others of course), but I’m still not sure about which one is best to apply early for, cause while Yale is my favorite, the other schools I mentioned aren’t far behind and applying early to those does give a slight advantage, but they’re all binding. :</p>

Once again, this is one of those “mouth-dropping applications that puts others to shame.” Honestly, though, I think you have excellent chances for Yale or any other Ivy League university.

Thanks! So what I’m hearing so far is that I should SCEA Yale

stats and awards are awesome, i agree that you have a great shot at SCEA to yale. good luck!
