Chance me .... PLEASE :(

I have a 3.667 GPA right now but will have a 4.0 GPA after first semester ( if not , definitely a 3.95 etc)
I rank 69th in my class out of 317 students (which should also go up)
My SAT isn't too high but not necessarily horrible ... I think? 1520
I'm a minority ( African American) and a female
I don't have TONs of ECs but I have did yearbook and newspaper as well as DECA and octagon ( I want to be a journalism major btw)
I will be the first one in my family to go to college
Neither one of my parents went to college but they do make a good amount of money
I applied to some hard schools :(
-UNC Chapel Hill
-Syracuse
-USC (southern cali)
-James Madison Univ
I'm also applying to some schools on the safer side..
-Temple
-Ohio State
SOMEBODY CHANCE ME PLEASEEEEE !!!!!!!

You say you already applied to all of these schools? If possible, I would retake the SAT and maybe reapply to these schools next year. A 1520 is technically above average, but is very low for schools such as SU, UNC-CH and USC. If you can bump that score up to above a 1600 and bring your grade up to a 4.0, then you will be a legitimate candidate for schools like Temple and JMU. If you really want to go to one of the more competitive schools on this list, you will really need to work hard for your final semester of high school and get, let’s say, a 1900 or higher on the SAT. If you don’t want to wait another year before entering a university, I would suggest applying to some less competitive schools- and quickly, because the application deadlines for most schools are coming up. I then might look to transfer to one of the schools on your list after your freshman year.

You are fine for Temple.
OSU - high match
Others- low reaches to reaches

I am working very hard !! To bring my grades up. My GPA for first semester is a 4.5 so averaged with my 3.6667 It should be a 4.0+ I’m taking
AP English right now , I’ve taken honors English all my high school ( which should be particularly important since I want to be a journalism major) I doubt my SAT will improve by much … but I hear sometimes when other parts of your application are strong they won’t worry too much about SATs. USC is my top choice (I have a close family friend there that could possibly get them to pull my app) or I Would love to go to SU or UNC. I’ve received a scholarship from a pretty good liberal arts university already though! So I can always go there if all else fails, thanks guys. Ill let you know what happens. Lol.
