hi, im currently at a competitive 4 year university(university of Puget Sound) and was looking to transfer to University of Washington. im a freshman in my second semester and really want to transfer uw. Im went to Puget sound because i was recruited to play basketball but realize uw is my true home. first semester i finished with a 2.67 while playing a college sport. my high school gpa was a 3.665 but my junior and senior year semesters were the best being 3.56 , 3.57, 3.87, and finally 3.74. does anyone want to chance me on my likely hood of getting in. I think have a very well written essay, have over 16 family members attend uw and my grandpa was a professor there. in state btw.

A 2.7 doesn’t look great, and UPS isn’t any more competitive than UW. There’s no harm in applying, but I would advise you to work really hard to raise your GPA in the coming semester(s). Then make part of your personal statement about how you found the transition from high school student to college student-athlete difficult but have gotten the hang of it as shown in your grades.
It’s also a bit harder to be accepted as a transfer from a private university to UW than it is from a WA state community college, so that may come into play as well.

thanks appreciate your advice
