Letter of Recommendations:

Teacher 1: Loves me, know she wrote a great rec for me
Teacher 2: A teacher known at school to write really good recs even if he doesn't know you
Counselor: Talked with her for 2 hours; she said she can write a really good rec for me

In your opinion, do you think I'll be accepted into Johns Hopkins University?

Were you good enough at tennis to play at the college level? If so, did you contact the tennis coach? Your GPA is very good but the ACT is just a little low. I think you have a decent chance, but it might boil down to what area’s they need to fill. Hang in there and good luck!

Definitely not good enough to play college level. Thank you so much for your input ricehopkinsmom!!

Hey, dannihal: My DS (also a tennis player) has very similar stats to you. From all I have been reading, it really could go either way. From looking at JHU CDS, middle 50% of ACT is 30-34 (so not sure why person above said your ACT is a little low). On our HS Naviance, avg ACT for accepted students is 31 (could be just our school). Of course can’t tell if these are engineering majors (like my DS wants to be) or liberal arts majors (might be less competitive than engineering?). I looked at regular decision acceptances from last year on this board and, again, the scores were all over the place (in the 30s).

I guess we just have to wait a few more weeks for the answer! Good luck!

I would just feel better if the ACT score was 33 or 34. My opinion- that’s all . My son had a 34 but his hook was being a star on his high school track team! Even then- I knew it was so competitive and iffy!
Good Luck to both of you!!
