As you can see in my sophomore schedule, I took a class called Science Research. This class is 3 year elective in which I can earn undergraduate research credits. This class takes about 13/75 kids and we all pick different topics to research. I research different types of cancer therapeutics. The class has affiliations with the University of Albany and it requires students to take part in research. During the summer of my sophomore year, I did research at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. I did this research for 115 hours. During this summer, I will be researching at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and I will be doing my own research about modifying chemotherapy in order to reduce side effects for patients that have malignant brain tumors.

TCNJ is an amazing school but I would apply to a Biology major which is very difficult to get into TCNJ for.

bumpity bump

Well, a lot depends on your SAT scores and class rank so I can’t really say anything about your chances. Research no matter how little during high school is always a plus though so keep up with that. Honestly just do well on for SATs and you’ll have a good chance. If your goal is medical school like 90% of the bio majors at TCNJ, have you considered applying to the med program?

I mean when I went on the campus tour they said that admission to the pre med program was very selective. So I’m not really sure. My school doesn’t do ranking and my very first SAT Score was a 1940 but I’m taking it again.

Just got my sat back and it’s a 2040. Now do I have a shot?

Well that’s definitely good enough for the bio program, although tcnj just looks at your CR and math scores so hopefully you did the best on those sections. For the med program you need a 1480 for M/CR in one sitting and top 5% of your class to be considered.

Thanks so much @glacius
