I just finished sophomore year of high school but I want to know what my prospects are for future college admissions! I would love to get into UC Berkeley as a double major in Music and Business but I would also like to see what other schools you guys think I'd have a good change of getting into.

Your application looks great! Definitely work on getting your GPA up, it’ll be necessary for such a competitive school as UCB. But your SAT II scores are excellent and your schedule looks rigorous enough, as long as you can keep up very high grades in your academic subjects. If you want to major in business, try doing some business-related ECs to gain experience. Your ECs are great music-wise and have some leadership. Expand on this as much as you can. See if you can do anything business-related for community service hours. If you do all this I think you will have a great shot! Good luck!

Thank you for the feedback! (: I also just realized I made a mistake in my GPA lol… I forgot that UC’s only look at 10-12 so my GPA is actually 3.71 and 4.71… oops!

I’ll be taking the SAT in October and I’ve been prepping a lot… My practice tests show around a 2100-2200 but by the end of the summer, I’m hoping to it up to 2300.

Unfortunately my GPA plummeted even further to 3.53 (not completely certain yet since I’m waiting for CST scores that could raise some of my grades). What do you think is the ideal GPA…? I’m so stressed over this…

Is your UC GPA weighted or unweighted? If it is Weighted you have to do some major work, and If it is UW It is OK as long as you have above a 4.0 your Sophomore and Junior Years. They will look for rigor in your courses and won’t be dissapointed if they found out that you took many APs and ended up getting a B(An A equivalent).

I’m pretty sure it’s UW… however I’m not too sure if I calculated it correctly… it’s funny because I got A’s in my AP classes but I did poorly on my honors classes. Hopefully that trend will continue next year since I’ll only be taking AP classes lol

I believe my UC GPA is 4.50 weighted. The classes I took were
Adv Orchestra
Honors Chem
Honors English II
AP Music Theory
Honors Precalc
AP Euro
