i would say UCIC is a high match/low reach for you, as your GPA certainly could be boosted further. But other than that, I think you’re on track!

I think that you have a great chance of getting into UIUC; however, the engineering program is very competitive (average ACT 31-34), so I’m not sure what your chances are for chemical engineering. Your science ACT score is very high, but remember that UIUC does not super score. I would recommend re-taking the ACT once and keep up the good work.

Thanks, my gpa is lower than it should be due to freshman year. I know that uiuc doesn’t superscore, but they do look at the best of each subscore during the admissions process.

You should be fine. I ended my senior year with the following and I got accepted for Chemical Engineering:

3.4 unweighted, 4.14 weighted

35 ACT
35 English
36 Math
34 Reading
34 Science

AP Chem
AP Physics C
AP Comp Sci A
Calc 3
English

Barely any extracurriculars, really. I had 4 years of varsity tennis and some academic stuff but nothing to note. They aren’t huge on those, not that they hurt obviously.
You might end up getting deferred, and at worst you’ll be accepted into general studies, after which you can transfer.

Take the ACT again and boost the math subscore. With your GPA, you need a strong ACT overall to offset. Your science subscore is great, but the math subscore is what is focused on more. Right now I’d say you’re a reach for Chem Eng, but you’d likely be offered DGS.

Are you from IL or OOS?

I’m in state
