Chance me, please!

I have just recently gotten interested in Vanderbilt, as I have found out that they do not require my noncustodial parent to fill out the FAFSA or CSS, opening the door to about $60,000 in financial aid. Anyway, the point of this thread is just to get an idea of my chances.

There are a couple other things I could write about, but the Common App limits me to 10 activities, and these are probably my stronger activities.

My essay will not be the best essay. I'm a fairly good writer, but I'm by no means the best.

Letters of recommendation will speak very highly of me.

Thank you!!

Also, how much higher would my admissions chances be if I apply Early Decision?

6 people in your class?!

Haha, yes. I go to a very small school. And the only reason I’m 2/6 is because of a B freshman year.

Do you have any idea of my chances?

congrats on that nice PSAT and hard work. make sure to “love” other colleges due to Vanderbilt’s crushing number of qualified applicants.

I really like that cafe job! good luck figuring out your essays. Project how you would specifically A. Use Vanderbilt’s academic resources which are immense and broad and B. where you might contribute to campus life. this requires reading up on Vandy online and looking into the newspaper and/or publications of research etc so you can get a sense of things

America has a plethora of worthy colleges. Make sure at least one college on your list is a match/safety and have a very good outlook regarding that as your future college home. This is advice for any applicant. It will be hard to beat Vandy’s financial offer for need based aid but take a hard look at your state’s flagship honors’ programs and visualize yourself there as well. remember four good years anywhere opens doors to graduate schools which often are attended by borrowing money
