Chance Me Please

Hello, I would like to ask what you think my chances are for the following schools:
University of Illinois (urbana)
Purdue University
University of Michigan (ann arbor)
Georgia Institute of Technology
I'd like to get into the electric engineering schools at these universities.

GPA: 3.55 (net weighted)
3.26 (net unweighted)
GPA for year (weighted)
fresh-3.325
Soph-3.433
Junior-4.0
ACT: 28 (29 superscore)

EC: 4 years of an intramural, I interned at Siemens over the last summer, I participate in my school's tutoring program, and I will probably be executive for my school's engineering club (I will hear the results Tuesday, I'm sorry for not knowing now).

Class rigour: Fresh:1 Accel, 0 Honors/ap.
Soph: 2 Accel, 0 Honors/ap.
Junior: 2 Accel, 2 Honors/ap.
Senior: 1 Accel, 6 Honors/ap
AP classes taken (or will take): Calc BC, Chemistry, Mirco, Government, Physics B and C (4 on Physics B) and US history (4).
I'd also like to mention that I have taken 3 years of engineering classes and 2 of them are PLTW classes.

Rank- Top 25% (My school takes the gpa only of the most recent year to say who is where)

If there is any other info you need feel free to ask. I am also aware that my GPA isn't the greatest thing in the world due to Freshman year. Thank you for your time.

Your UW GPA hurts you a lot. Are you in-state anywhere? (I’m going to assume you’re OOS):

Georgia Tech - Reach
UMich - Reach
UIUC - Reach (Engineering is competitive especially if you’re OOS)
Purdue - High Match

You really need to consider some schools that are easier to get into.

Im in the EXACT same situation. I do have a higher gpa though around 3.873 and a higher SAT score (didn’t take ACT), but im applying to the same Universities as you are. Also EE, OOS.

GA Tech : reach
Purdue : high match
Michigan Ann Arbor : reach
UIUC : low reach, potential chance

If it’s significant; I’m aiming for GA Tech, but Purdue is my first choice.

I would agree with what Truust mentioned; try to find yourself some schools that are a bit easier to get into as your UWGPA might hurt a bit.

Good luck fellow applicant! :)

I am in state for UIUC.

What are your ACT section scores?
Based on your GPA and ACT, UMich and GA Tech are reach (rather high reach). For Purdue, it is a low reach to high match. For UIUC in state, it would be low reach. You do need to find some match and safety schools.

With superscore: 27 English, 29 math, 29 reading, 31 science
Without superscore: 27 English, 28 math, 29 reading, 28 science

Also, is there any engineering schools you’d suggest me looking into that you would consider “safe”.

Safety also depends on affordability. Can you pay $50k per year?
Otherwise, you may look at non-flagship in state public.

Money is not a problem for me.

Hey,dude! I am going to apply the universities you choose, and my major will be EE too, AND we share the same ACT score! That is so fortuitous!

damn that is some cool stuff, are you from IL also?

To be honest, dude, I think only PURDUE is high match or safety. Others are low reach because of your ACT score. But if you manage to improve your score to 31, all the universities are high match

No. I am an international students from China.

Well thanks for the suggestion. My Micro teacher told me this and maybe you could use it. He said to apply to a school that you know you can get into easily and will give you a big scholarship. After the school tells you how much they would be willing to give to you for a scholarship you can take that scholarship offer and show it to a school that you want to get into and there is a chance they’d be willing to match the scholarship from the easier school. Good luck with your search.

Well, thank you! And If you are interested in my profile, you can find my post, which was posted 2hrs ago.
