Wrong. He’s applying for the December decision date (meaning the application deadline in October, which I believe passed about 10 days ago). He would only be able to take the November SAT/ACT at this point (and only if prior test scores are already on record at FSU).

There’s a bit of a misnomer; the December decision date isn’t really “early” for FSU. December is their regular decision date, with March being the late one. There’s no “applying early” for FSU.

The OP has a decent chance though, yes. Probably 80% towards accepted, although out of state can always be tricky to gauge because it’s slightly more difficult.

Yes, so I applied early. When I applied I only had my May SAT submitted in which I scored a 1610.

So I will be submitting my Oct. SAT’s today (which I hope they accept, because I’ve been told that they do from other students but never an official admissions officer)

I was pretty sure I would not make the criteria for the regular date so that is why I applied early.

Like I said, the December decision date (the October application deadline) isn’t “early” but the regular admission decision date for FSU. It’s a misnomer to think it’s “early” in the general sense.

March is more difficult (both to get in, and to judge) because it’s heavily dependent on the December date’s acceptances, waitlistings, and rejections. A lot of people that get waitlisted in December are accepted in March, for example.

You can submit your October SAT scores, assuming that FSU gets them before December. I believe the requirement used to be that you had to already have a set of test scores in the system to send new ones (so to send new SAT scores, you’d already need to have submitted SAT scores, and to send new ACT scores, you’d already need to have submitted ACT scores).

I think you’ll be fine either way, it’s just that out of state is sometimes difficult to judge.
