I’m very enthusiastic about Brown, and that shows in my essays. I wrote about achieving despite my area in the supplement, and how I was self-motivated and would enjoy the open curriculum at Brown. My major perks are my essays, interview, poor area, and dedication to ECs. I said that I wanted to major in Public Policy and American Institutions. I’ve taken classes like International Relations, Western Political Thought, and AP Gov, so that’ll support my case.
I’m a little concerned about my GPA, and my test scores could be better, but I recently developed carpal tunnel, so re-taking is out for me.
Thanks so much!

bump…

I’m not an admissions officer so I couldn’t tell you what your specific rep is looking for in a candidate…

But, the passion is there, which is really important to Brown. Could you by any chance provide a breakdown of your grades? It’s more helpful than just seeing a straight GPA.

Ok! Frosh year I took H. English, H. World History, H. Earth Science, Freshman Seminar, French I, Theatre I, algebra 1 and Gym. I don’t remember specific grades but I had 93+ in every class and did really well 98+ in English, history, and gym.
Then H. Geometry (B), H. Bio (98), H. Algebra II (B), H. Anatomy (B), H. English II (99), Civics (99), Theatre II (99), and H. Psych (92).
11th was APUSH/Pre-APUSH (99), AP Stats (82), H. Chem (83), AP English (91), Pre Calc (89), French II (95), EcoCriticism (B), Western Political Thought (B) , International Relations (B) and Chemical Engineering (B).
