<p>Hi I'm a junior in high school from a middle class family in New Jersey (Indian). I'm leaning towards majoring in business/finance and I'm hoping to get into a top tier college. The reason I'm posting on this forum is less to get chanced, rather to learn what kinds of things I can do to improve my chances. </p>
<p>GPA (W): 4.35 (from end of 10th grade)
(my school doesn't do unweighted or rank but to calculate it are a-,a, and a+'s all the same or do they have different values?)
(in top 3 of the class, guidance assured the colleges i applied to will be informed i'm competing for val)</p>
<p>SAT: didn't take it yet but i expect to get 2250+</p>
<p>SAT IIs: none taken yet (Math, Bio, etc)</p>
<p>APs: Chem (4), i'll be taking test for Lang, Stat, Calc and Bio this year (expecting all 4s and 5s)</p>
<p>Courseload: AP Lang, AP Stat, AP Calc BC, AP Bio, Hon US II, Hon German</p>

<p>For the past 4-5 years, I have run an annual charity event in my neighborhood that raises $2,000 each year for various charities. Definitely went through hardships keeping it running and it could be a topic for my essay.
I'll also try to start a small business or get a job.</p>
<p>Essay/RCs: I know my guidance counselor will definitely give me a strong rec</p>
