Chance Me Please?

@veritas126 stars is a program where students do research under a scientist and submit a 15 to 20 pg paper. The mini medical school is an interactive seminar where students listen to lectures and interact with professors from the wash u school of medicine. I habe also dedicated a lot of time to the mu alpha theta and I feel the intl certificates show my musical ability. The missour inovation academy is a program where students work to integrate science and business by designing a product, building a prototype, and create a marketable plan. As for volunteering, my nursing home experience was valuable as I actually collaborated with staff to aid residents. I hope that helps, and if you get a different perspetive I’d be happy to hear it

Oh no your musical certification is awesome. its incredibly impressive. Did you submit your paper to your colleges?

@veritas126 I did so. And also, writing has always been a strength of mine. That would probably help me at schools like U Chicago

All Ivies (sans Cornell), UChicago, Duke, maybe Northwestern too are reaches, though definitely reachable for you. WUSTL, Tufts, JHU like to play the yield protection game from my experience, so make sure you really show that you want to go there. You’re in at the others I think.

UMKC – I don’t know anything about this school.

Advice (feel free to take it or leave it)

  • take the SAT. While your ACT score is really good, the Ivy League/ top tier seem to like the SAT more. They claim to accept both equally, but unless you have an amazing story or activity, nobody gets in on just the ACT.
-is there anything you can do about your GPA? Because pretty much every school looks at your GPA from freshman year up. The transcript is the most important part (which looks good for you), and the GPA is often categorized with it.
-I feel like you’re the type of person for whom the essays will make or break or you.

Good luck =)

@Violet1996 I messed up in my freshman year. The second semester of junior year and the first semester of senior year i got straight as

St.Louis!!

Don’t worry you have great chances of getting into your colleges!

@wumanizer I thank you for your confidence. However, may I request you to be a little more specific in your chancing? Its fine if you do not want to

Strong application for the most part!

Wow!!! You are an amazing student!! Good job. Here’s what I think…

UCLA - Match! You are exactly the kind of student they want.
UC Berkeley - Match!! Though I think UCLA may be a better fit.
Washington University of St.Louis - Match!!
Columbia - Reach…It is for everyone.
Dartmouth - Reach
Brown - Reach
Cornell - Maybe match if you apply to CALS
U Penn - Reach if you apply to Wharton, Low reach if you apply ED (acceptance rate skyrockets to 25%)
Yale - Reach
Northwestern - Reach. It has gotten very difficult to get in! Look into applying as a tv/comm major, I heard it’s easier to be accepted.
Rice - Match
Johns Hopkins University - Match
University of Chicago - Reach
Duke - Reach
Tufts - Match. This is a great fit for an aspiring engineer if this applies to you. Also in a lovely neighborhood.
U Illinois Urbana Champaign - N/A
UMKC - N/A

Please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1617448-chance-me-please-i-ll-chance-back.html?new=1

I agree that many of these schools, especially the more selective ivies are reaches. However, the upward trend in your grade and musical activities are promising and could look good to some colleges. I recommend nailing the essas and really showing interest in each of the mentioned schools! Good luck! (;
