I think UCF is a match. UF is also a match. You would have a high UF GPA. But UF is EXTREMELY holistic. To the point where it’s almost hard to predict admissions. Your ECs are weak- average.

I satisfy the requirements for the highest Bright Futures Scholarship, if it is relevant.

Your stats (GPA and Test Scores) put you into the middle 50% of the 2013 enrolled freshman class:

High School GPA of 4.1 - 4.4
SAT of 1780-2020
ACT of 26 - 31

<a href=“Freshman - How To Apply - University of Florida”>http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/frprofile.html

Your stats are fine, so UF is a match, but with it’s holistic admission process, it’s still very random. Continue to work on your EC’s over the summer (anything will help, including getting a job) and start on your essay. Improving your test scores will also help your chances (to a degree).

Apply to UF and hopefully you’ll get accepted. However, make sure you have other options that will meet your needs, other than UF.

UCF and USF are safeties, and both could offer you merit scholarships. Improving your SAT (or doing well on your ACT) will help increase the amount merit that these schools will offers. Make sure you apply to both schools early, as they use rolling admissions. You could get accepted and offered merit by November! It’s nice to have those out of the way, as you wait on your other applications (like UF, which doesn’t announce acceptances until the 2nd Friday of February).

Good Luck!
