the rest are safety or match

Agreed. I would take the SAT again after doing lots of practice problems and see if you can’t scoot it up over 2100. That seems to make a psychological difference in what tier they perceive you to be, just like cracking the 2200 mark puts you in yet another tier. But with 2100+ your chances at those tougher admits really improves, since the rest of your record seems very strong. Don’t get me wrong, 2050 is a great score, it is just the competition you are up against has a lot of people in that 2100+ tier.

Thank you so much! I will definitely retake it in the fall. Any other suggestions?

I’m presuming from your list that you are a CA resident; am I correct? Have you calculated your UC-weighted GPA? They use their own system for determining GPA. UCLA and Berkeley place a lot of emphasis on GPA. You are within range, but you should probably consider both of them moderate reaches for now. If your UC-weighted GPA is higher than what you posted, and your scores rise above 2100, then they would become high-matches (assuming that you aren’t applying to the most selective departments, e.g. Engineering). As a point of reference: my son applied to Berkeley (super-reach, as he knew all along), UCSD, and Davis from out-of-state. He had similar test scores to yours, a lower unweighted GPA, but a UC-weighted GPA of around 4.0. He got into Davis and UCSD, but was rejected from Berkeley. He had terrific ECs, also.

Where is your home state? Need that for UC chancing.
ND is a reach.

Washington State resident! And I calculated my UC GPA and it is a 4.3

Dude if you raise your SAT scores, then you would be a high match to all of those colleges you listed.
Best of Luck :slight_smile: !!!
p.s take the ACT if you have time for it

UC Berkeley= low reach
UCLA= low reach
USC= high match
University of San Diego= low match
Syracuse= match

Add USC and Berkeley to the reach list unless you can bring up your SAT. UCLA would be low reach. Check the NPC before applying. You are not likely to get merit aid from these schools while need based aid from UC for oos is rare if any.
