You are doomed to be either a frycook or janitor.

Haha mcdonalds or burgerking? Need to make some tough decisions

You’re in good shape overall except for those AP scores, which are good but on the softer side for an otherwise straight-A student. Now you’re planning on taking 6 more along with a self-study. What went wrong on Chemistry, Euro, and CompSci? If it’s an issue of slacking off late in the school year, fix that; senior year is the best time to do this.

I took those APs sophomore year and didn’t prepare well for them. This year I took AP Physics C: Mech, APUS, AP Calc AB, and AP Lang. I studied very hard for them and expect 5s on all but a 4 on lang.

You’ve put yourself in great position to be admitted. The key from here will be demonstrating in your app that you want to be at UChicago. Best of luck to you and congratulations on an excellent HS record so far.

Lots of well qualified kids don’t get in. To distinguish yourself, you need to rock the essays. My California D got in with lower stats than you and will be attending this fall. I’m convinced it was her essays that did the trick.

I agree with DGDzDad…. Its great that you’re smart, but why are you different. What are you going to bring to the table that UChicago really wants. Where and how have you shown passion in what you have done. Grades and scores are what qualify you; what is mentioned above is what gets you in.
