Extracurriculars:

Playing Viola- It is an uncommon instrument I guess! I have been the leader of my section for 2 years. I take private lessons and it is something I love doing.

Viola Awards:
Have gotten a "1" rating (highest) at District and State level Solo & Ensemble for some ensembles I played in Sophomore and Junior year. Also have my "orchestra varsity letter", based on points.

Sinfonia- After school orchestra. We combine with the top band and play full orchestra pieces.

-Playing Pit for Musicals - I play viola (or violin part) for musicals at a local highschool that is not my own, and have for 3 or 4 years now. They have no music program so it's great to help out!

Art- I paint and do digital art commissions for people! I took drawing 1 in school, but have not taken any other drawing classes because of things that I believe would be more important to colleges. I'm probably going to be setting up a supplement portfolio to send to colleges. :)

NHS- I am in NHS, in which we needed 40 hours as juniors. I got 47 I believe!

-Tutoring - For NHS, but definitely my favorite "community service" to do. I tutored mainly in physics, and it was really enjoyable.

-Interact Club and Students Leading Students - a couple clubs I'm involved in. They're basically about being involved in the community and helping kids make safe choices.

-Prom Committee

Recs:

Don't have them yet, but I think they will be pretty good.

Essays:

I'm really particular about my writing, so I think if I spend a lot of time they will be pretty good!

Thanks!

This all depends on your major.

UPenn- Reach

Notre Dame- Low Reach

UMich (instate)- Match

UChicago- Low Reach

Northwestern- Low Reach

Chance my friend: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1664084-chance-me-for-top-colleges-will-chance-back.html#latest

@Hawkace That I have no idea about. I’m thinking Biochem? I want to either go to pharmacy school or law schoo, so I don’t think the major matters too much? Definitely science or math though. What would my chances be with that, if you know? Thanks, and I’ll chance your friend now! (although he sounds awfully similar to you ;P)

@nicobella‌ Hehehe. Anyway, the major matters in whether the field will be competitive or not. Math or science is kind of competitive.

The chances are the same as I mentioned before.

@hawkace Does being a girl in math or science change anything? Someone I know applied into nursing at a school that was a reach for them, but it was easier because they were a boy, if that makes sense.

@nicobella‌ It does. But I accounted that in my chances, I believe.

@hawkace
Alright, thank you! Definitely not expecting to get into UPenn or ND, but it would be amazing. :o Thanks for your help!

Anyone else willing to help me out?

UPenn - Slight Reach

Notre Dame- Match

UMich - Match

UChicago- Reach (as is for everyone)

Northwestern- Low Reach
