Chance me please!

<p>Wondering my Chances at Case Western Reserve.
Im thinking my safeties will be U Buffalo, UVM, and Clarkson
Intended Major: Civil Engineering</p>

<p>Gender: Female
High school GPA(unweighted): 3.7ish consistent (overall averages between 92-94%, always been on honor role)
Freshman Year:
Honors- Math(geometry, year ahead of average) , English, & Earth Science
Introduction to Engineering and Design (got RIT college credit)
9th grade world history
Band (French Horn)</p>

<p>Sophomore Year:
Honors- English, Biology
AP World history
Algebra 2& Trig (year ahead of average)
Principles of Engineering (got RIT college credit)
Band (French Horn)</p>

<p>Junior Year:
Chemistry
American Literature
Pre-Calculus
AP US History
Civil Engineering & Architecture (RIT college credit)
Science Research (special class my school offers, you pick a topic and research it for 2 years, required to get an internship (hoping at RPI), researching purifying flowback fluid from fracking wells)-</p>

Internship with professor at RPI- looking at chemical rain vs. acid rain
WPI Summer Program- 2 weeks- Civil and Enviornmental Engineering tract
4-H - 3rd grade-12th grade (elected Head of Recreational Committee 2 times; been on horse bowl team 6 times, captain twice, going to Cornell this year for states; running for president this year)
Students for peace and Survival - club 11th and 12th grade
Ski Club- 10th, 11th, and 12th grade
JV Tennis- 10th grade
Varsity Tennis- 11th & 12th grade (captain 12th grade hopfully</p>

<p>Part Time Job- teaching children how to ride horses
Summer Job- Hose Camp-Teaching children how to care for horses</p>

<p>My worry is my math and science grades tend to be in the high 80's low 90's and my english and history grades are what pulls my average up. Also, my math and science grades are my lowest on the ACT's.</p>

<p>@Engineer789 One good thing about Case is that you apply to the school as a whole, not to a specific major, so if you are accepted you can major in anything you want. Of course, then you actually have to take all those intro courses for engineering majors (weeder courses) and that is where you will find out if you truly have what it takes. Maybe you do not want to specify engineering as your major if you’re not confident in your math/science scores. You really do look like you have a good chance…how does the auto mechanics course fit in the rigor of classes taken- is it filling a required elective? Maybe you could work that into an essay showing your mechanical mind :slight_smile:
Make sure you visit, tour, interview, etc. Attend info sessions at your school if they visit, contact your regional rep…Case likes you to show interest. It is a wonderful school! Good luck!</p>
