Chance me, please!

<p>Hi! I want to major in Microbiology. I know my GPA is low…but I was wondering if I still have a chance.</p>

<p>Currently a senior.
UC GPA: 3.9
Unweighted GPA: 3.69
Weighted GPA: 4.36</p>

<p>Residency: California Resident
Female; Japanese/Chinese</p>

<p>SAT Reasoning Scores:
CR: 660
Math: 740
Writing: 710
Total: 2110
Didn’t take ACT!
SAT II Scores: Taking Bio (E) and Math 2c this November!</p>

<p>AP Scores:
Calculus BC: 4 (AB Subscore: 4)
Eng Language: 4
US History: 5
Taking Bio, Chinese, Lit, Psych, and Stats this school year.</p>

<p>EC

  1. 4 years badminton player (3 years JV, junior year-captain; 1 year varsity) and 1 year of track
  2. 3rd place sparring state competition (Karate)
  3. Piano; 12 years. Completed all 8 years of ABRSM practical tests with certification. Completed up to 6th grade in ABRSM theory tests with certification. Have been playing at a music center these recent (3?) years, and help my instructor organize various recitals.<br>
  4. Unpaid tutoring; I tutored middle school students in math, english, and science courses. This is during the school year on weekends.
  5. 110+ Communtiy Service hours (American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital Events)</p>

6. World Vision: Joined for 4 years, cabinet since Freshman year. (Freshman rep, Sophomore rep, President for junior/senior year)
7. St. Jude: Joined 3 years, cabinet senior year (but as Events Coordinator)</p>

<p>This year I’m planning on submitting an application to the World Vision Regional Council as well.</p>

<p>I think you’ve got a really good shot - please apply broadly though. UC admissions can be tough to predict and you don’t want all your eggs in one basket.

@NCalRent‌ I’m actually applying to quite a lot of private schools. The only UCs I’m applying to are Davis and SD.</p>
