<p>I am pure 100% Chinese female. Though I am a citizen of the US, I was not born here. I reside in California, so yes I am in-state.
I plan to major in political science.</p>

<p>The REAL issue begins here. My GPA is lower than the average acceptance GPA by a lot.</p>

<p>GPA weighted: 3.5
GPA unweighted: 3.4</p>

<p>SAT math: 625
SAT writing: 625
SAT reading: 610
Total SAT: 1850 (I only plan on taking it once)</p>

<p>No ACT at the moment, but I plan to take it in the near future.</p>

<p>AP Classes: US History (4), Econ (n/a), Psych (n/a), Gov (n/a)
My school does not lack AP classes, but the influx of students signing up pushed many students out (which is why I could only obtain one AP class in 3 years).</p>

<p>Extra Curricular(s):
Swim Team: JV 3 years, Varsity this year, broke the league record 2012 - 2013, MVP
Water Polo Team: JV 1 year (was captain), Varsity 2 years (captain for all 2 years), League Honorable Mention Award
Debate Team: 1 year novice, 1 year JV, 1 year Varsity, Captain (2014 - 2015)
Speech and Debate Club: 3 years, Executive Board Member two years, Tournament Coordinator one year
Math Club: 3 years
CSF: 1 year
National Coalition for the Homeless: 1 year
Summer School Volunteering
Library Volunteering
American Legion Volunteering

Are you a Junior or Senior? Yes, your GPA is low and unless you calculate a UC GPA of 4.0 or higher, your chances are very slim for acceptance. UCD puts a heavy emphasis on GPA, more so than test scores. All UC’s will consider your course rigor, so a lack of AP classes will not bode well. If you are a Junior, you need to really get good grades this year to boost your GPA. If you are a Senior, try to ace that ACT and write stellar essays to help give you an edge.
