I'm wondering what my shots are at UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCI, Carnegie Mellon, and Harvey Mudd if I'm applying towards a CS major

Calculate your UC GPA for the UC’s and repost.
<a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/</a></p>

I’m not a 100% sure I used the calculator right but my UC GPA seems to be 4.07

Harvey Mudd/UCB: High Match/Low Reach (Very competitive for CS)
UCLA: High Match
UCSD: Match
UCI: Low Match/Safety
CM: ? Not sure
Good Luck and you have very good chances.

Computer Science is very impacted, and your GPA is only average for the mid-tier UCs.
UCB - reach (usually same selective as UCLA, but more selective for CS major)
UCLA - low reach (GPA below UCLA average)
UCSD - high match (GPA below UCSD average)
UCI - match
Carnegie Mellon - reach (selective for CS major)
Harvey Mudd - reach (selective for CS major)

Thanks for all the posts guys this is really helpful. Quick question u said that my gpa is under the UCSD average, but according to http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses/san-diego/freshman-profile/</a> it says that the average gpa is 4.13. So can someone confirm whether that 4.13 is the UC gpa or highschool GPA?

4.13 is the average capped UC GPA of UCSD.

Really? I’m sorry that is just super surprising because the people that go to UCSD from my local highschools have an average gpa of a bit under a 4.0(not UC), but I shouldn’t really base my chances off of those around me because they might have just been special circumstances.

All are reaches except UCLA (low reach) and UCI
you have a good shot at most schools. your major makes it more selective

Chance?

bump

I would say that you have a decent chance at the universities. Berkeley might be a reach but the others are low reaches. Do well on the essays.

bump. more inputs/comments please
