Thank you! Good luck to all other applicants!

bump

Sorry :c

are you instate

@class0f15‌ No, I’m from Cali

You have some awesome stats! I’d say Mich is a low match but only because you’re out of state. Good luck! I wouldn’t sweat it.

OOS and Engineering, I would say slight reach.

Does Umich not like OOS students?

I think your Sat is okk. But not sure high enough to get you in for RD. Your EC’s and GPA looks fine.
I think it will be low match to match for you.
Best of Luck

@kkedia‌ what ACT score do you think i’ll need to make my chances a match to high match? Thanks for your input.

I’m instate and most of the kids here need around a 33 to get in to the school of engineering. OOS is going to be more competitive, I still believe it’s a high match for you. Your EC’s and SAT II scores make up for the 2-3 points on the ACT.

CoE would be a reach for you. Your GPA and test scores are below admission average and you are from OOS. Note that the admission rate was ~20% last year and it will go lower this year.

that’s scary. I guess i’ll have to go pretty hardcore on those essays :/

I would say that umich is a high match to low reach. This is only because the students who are applying to COE from my OOS school have arund a 34-35 on their ACTs. However, you can get in if you write killer essays!

The admission average ACT for CoE last year was 33. It is scary.

UPDATE
Math 2: 800

French: 700

Physics: 750

ACT: 33

bump!

I got in with a 28 ACT, though I’m in state, still your stats are amazing so write a passionate essay and you should do fine!

@Aaly222‌ Did you apply to engineering, and what class were you? Do you have suggestions on how to write my essays well?

I got into CoE with a 2090 and 3.8 UW
I had lots of ECs, very unique ECs …
I think you should be fine s long as you kill your essays !
I thin UMich really looks for academic and extracurricular potential …
Be sure to demonstrate lots of passion in your essays and demonstrate interest towards UMich …
Do research on the type of engineering you want to do and look up the undergraduate research opportunities UMich offers and talk about it !
Good luck !!
