Chance me please!!!

Hey guys! I know I previously asked ya’ll to chance me but now since its the end of my junior year, I think that most of my things are finalized and I have definite stats for the most part.
GPA: 5.44 (unweighted)
GPA: around 3.5ish (weighted)
Rank: 77/613 (top 12% about) - new ranks haven’t come out yet but I’m anticipating a 0.1 drop in my unweighted GPA…
SAT: 800 M, 700 W, 690 R (2190 total) - idk if I should take it again (should I? I’m worried it might go down. probably won’t be able to get a perfect score on Math ever again)
SAT 2: Taking Math 2, Chemistry, and U.S. History this Saturday
ACT: 36 M, 35 R, 30 S, 29 W <- ( :frowning: essay) (33 total)
ECs: Debate (3 years), DECA (3 years), YES club, Spanish National Honor Society (1 year), Red Cross (1 year)
Recs: Counselor agreed, planning on getting one from my English 2 teacher
AP: World History, English 3, Calculus AB, Computer Science 2, APUSH, Chemistry 2, Psychology, Human Geography, Government (summer), Macroeconomics (summer), English 4 (senior year), Environmental Science (senior), Comparative Government (senior), Microeconomics (senior), Statistics (senior)
Honors: Everything else except required classes like Speech, Health, Debate 1 (elective), Spanish 1, Spanish 2
Anticipated Major: Chemical Engineering or Business (most likely chemical engineering)
Colleges: UT Austin, TAMU College Station
Sports: Volleyball
Special: I volunteer as an MC for cultural events. I still have the videos that my parents took; my counselor said that I should send them to colleges when I apply.

My unweighted GPA is 5.56 and rank is 77 right now but both will probably go down: GPA -0.1 and rank -20 (i think)

You HAVE to submit your application to A&M very early! You are an academic admit until spots are full. If you apply early, you have a very good chance for engineering at TXA&M. As far as UT, being female might help. Your stats are good but there is just such stiff competition.

I really don’t know if my ECs are good enough. I’ve been reading some chance threads here and people have been officers of this and captains of that with 200+ volunteer hours. I just don’t have those kinds of ECs…

For TX A&M, it is about test scores and rank if you are an auto-admit. Your ECs seem normal for a high school student. The MC volunteering is different. And did you play volleyball? That takes a lot of time. Some of the posters on CC have over the top ECs.

Im trying out for varisty next year, but since I’m gonna be a senior, they have to let me in even though I might get benched (or so I’ve heard) cause I havent played cause my mom didnt want me to “ruin” my GPA.

I used to play in middle school but that doesnt really make much of a difference. Its just I’m really worried if I want to do volleyball or not. There are no other South Asian girls on the team. Most of them are white… and popular…

You can just go forward at this point with your ECs. Your grades and scores are excellent. I think A&M accepts applications on August 1. You need to turn in your application as soon as possible. College is the beginning of an entire new chapter of your life. Don’t worry about whose popular in high school. Soon that won’t matter at all. If you did well on the PSAT (218 +) then look at Baylor for a large scholarship and also Texas Tech and UT D.

good EC’S and really good scores! I would think you should take the sat maybe a few more times. probably a good fir for most texas colleges

you’ll definitely get in to TAMU if, as others have mentioned, you apply early enough
UT is kind of a crapshoot with the whole top 7% law, but i’ve seen people with similar ranks to yours get in this year, so i think you have pretty good chances
if you do decide to go with business, SMU might be a good school to look at, too!

Thanks!! Its just i want to get into engineering and both UT and TAMU are VERY selective and they look at ranks. @sahar1811 with our school, ranks are pretty much distorted…
