Hi everyone, I’m new to this
I just submitted my application to Rutgers New Brunswick, for SAS and SEBS. My GPA is a 91.7 unweighted and a 93.979 weighted.
My school has a lot of kids that go to Rutgers and everyone I know got accepted had slightly higher stats than me.
What I’m worried about is my SAT score, I have a 500 reading 590 math and a 590 writing. I can’t take another SAT before the deadline for early application ended so these may be my final scores. I have not taken the ACTs though.
I just want to know what my chances are because I really want to go to Rutgers.
I am a New Jersey resident and my ethnicity is Asian.
I have had a LOT of honors classes and 2 AP classes. I am a varsity soccer player, 3 years member of the French honor society and I did 30 hours of volunteering at a doctors office.
Please chance me
I’m sorry, but your SAT scores aren’t competitive enough - they’re below average for Rutgers NB. It might’ve been alright if you had some really stellar ECs or something, but you don’t… (they’re good but commonplace)
Why apply early? You can retake the SATs, try your best to score around a hundred higher for each subject, and quite possibly get in! Another option is Rutgers Camden, or the other Rutgers - the SAT averages are lower.
I wish you the best of luck!
As a senior at a high school in NJ, I can say that I’ve seen a ton of people who have gotten in with stats lower than yours. Sure, the SAT is low compared to a lot of students, but it’s good enough for in-state Rutgers.
I also have friends who have gotten in with lower stats but I just wanted to hear from others about it, thank you
