Chance me please!

Hi guys,

Student from India. I’m looking for a good Computer Science program. My scores :
ACT : 34 (36 Math, 34 Science, 33 English, 31 Reading )
SAT II : Math 800, Physics 780
11th grade : 85%

ECs :
Soccer U-17 Nationals. Several inter-school soccer certificates as well.
School Prefect in the 10th grade.

I changed my school in 11th grade to PACE, for an integrated course in JEE. It isn’t an usual institution. The major focus is on the entrance exam. Therefore, I wasn’t able to give as much time as my IB counterparts gave on extra curricular activities.

It’s a bit worrying. I’m planning to explain this situation in my application assuming it will make a difference. Nevertheless, my ACT score is supposed to be 99.26% percentile and SAT II scores are pretty good as well. Will that help me cover up my ECs?

I have few colleges in mind.

UCB, UCLA, CMU, UIUC, Cornell, Princeton, Purdue, GTech, USC, UT Austin.

I would like to know the reaches, best fits and safeties. I’m open to suggestion of other colleges as well. Please help me narrow down on the colleges, thank you!

Bump!

Its going to be a major uphill battle for you

@ShaunakK98 uphill battle for which of those colleges?

Princeton Cornell UCB CMU definitely

@ShaunakK98 So do I have a good chance at the other colleges? My counsellor says there is very less chance I’ll not get into Purdue. UIUC and USC should be easy too, apparently.

Purdue should be easy. UIUC has a high acceptance rate, but its CS program is very very good, and I`m not sure if there are seperate applications for that. USC has a low acceptance rate (<20) so thats definitely not going to be easy

But keep in mind, Im as old as you. Im not an expert in this. My opinion are based on my college research and extensive reading on CC
