Chance Me, Please!!!

What are my chances for these schools?

I’m currently a senior and am also debating where/if I should apply early…Stanford or UPenn. I know both are definitely long shots, but any feedback on my college list would be awesome. Thanks!

Stanford
Brown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Duke
Northwestern
Pomona College
University of Pennsylvania
USC
…I am also applying to UC schools (UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UC Irvine) and have backups (University of Washington/ University of Oregon/ ASU) .

If you live in California, and if you are recruited, then you would be at an advantage for Stanford. I know they have a special place for recruited athletes. What are you thinking about majoring in?

Hi @jarrett211, I want to major in Molecular Biology or Chemistry.

Most of the schools I mentioned have really selective teams (2 or 3 people recruited per year)…I can only be a "walk-on, not recruited :frowning:

Everything about your stats are stellar; SAT is slightly low if seriously looking at Stanford. Competitive at every school on the list in my opinion.

@anxiousenior1 2260 is slightly low? Are you kidding me?

@golfcashoahu
For Stanford it’s competitive but not anything special. Average

Grades, Test scores, and ECs are really good. As long as you have good rec letters and essays I’m pretty sure you have a shot at all of these schools. However, some kids could do absolutely amazing things and somehow not get in. In schools like these you never know. But work hard!

Agreed that 2260 is slightly low for Stanford. A combination of 2310 and 3.88 GPA would be at the 50% mark. This student has a 4.0 though, so that’s good. Again, 2260 seems great, and it is, but it is an average SAT score for accepted Stanford students. Definitely should apply though and mention to the coach of this mysterious sport that he’d like to walk on. I’ll guess the sport is Fencing.
