Another question: Would it serve me better to apply as a music major because I’m very good at clarinet and my end goal is just to go to med school?

Thank You!!

Your SATs and Subject Test scores are great, as are most of your APs.
Your GPA and being only top 40% are not impressive (no matter how competitive the school is).
ECs are probably okay too.
Do not apply for the music school (which is Bienen, not Weinberg) if your goal is med school.

BUMP

If you really, really, really want to continue in depth study in music, I’d have gone for for Bienen. If you’d be content playing in an orchestra or band or two while focusing your studies in other subjects, I wouldn’t have gone for Bienen, and instead chosen to play in a few non-major orchestras, etc. I know a lot of people who do just that.

Also, if you plan on studying both music and another major, you’d likely need to spend five years at NU to get both degrees.

Since you likely already made your decision as to what to apply to, you can always, if you get in, adjust your plan of studies based on the tips I provided above, should you choose to take the advice.

Its too late for a “chance” to actually mean anything, since your fate is in the hands of the admissions office people. Any comments I make will probably just stress you out about some little mistake you made in your application. I know this from personal experience from my senior year. Relax, focus on other activities that you enjoy, think about and appreciate the family and friends who care about you, and have fun being a high school senior. And good luck.

Don’t apply to Bienen if you plan to go to med school. The switch from Bienen to another school within NU is hard to do.
