26 ACT, 3.5 UW, 3.7 W, rigorous course load, tons of leadership positions such as Editor in Chief of school newspaper, 4 years of varsity basketball, 4 years of FBLA, 4 years of JSA, National honor Society, few philanthropic activities, 2 jobs, and a compelling essay about my time as a bench player on the varsity basketball team. Maryland has been my top choice since freshman year and I applied by the EA deadline.
Also I am from New Jersey.
@rudyy1, no one on this forum (or any other forum) can tell you with a definitive answer your chances of admittance to UMCP or other schools. Although, some of us on this forum have tried to discourage the “chance me” posts, they persist and only add to the anxiety of the “wait” for college acceptances. For example, how does it help you if anyone says your stats are too low for OOS admittance or provide a false sense of hope that you have a chance of admission? Maybe you’ll be admitted to UMCP or UPitt, but only the admissions officers know the answers you seek.
This time next year will be a faint memory. You will be a second semester freshman, having rocked academically your first semester of college and survived the independence of living away from home. So, while you wait for your college admission notifications, please read the @maryversity very informative and supportive post on [The facts about chances](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-maryland-college-park/1846990-the-facts-about-chances.html). All the best to you!
You bring up some pretty valid points. But as a high school senior, it is inevitable to want to know what my chances are of getting into a school I’ve wanted to go to for quite some time now. The whole college admissions process is a sticky one and obviously nothing is “definite”.
Sigh… then I must concede the point. The high school senior’s logic eludes me. Carry on. Good luck!
@rudyy1 - It is indeed a sticky process - especially when friends are hearing decisions from other schools…just try to focus on enjoying your senior year…it goes way too fast.
what is your race?

3.7 weighted is kinda low, and 26 ACT isn’t that great either. But since you have lots of ECs and (assuming you have a very good essay), I suppose you have an ok chance. But 3.7W is rather low for College Park
