Chance me please!

Hi, I’m a female rising junior from Ohio. If someone could chance me (safe, match, reach) I’d really appreciate it!

GPA: I earn straight As, other than one quarter freshman year when I got an A minus in Honors English 9. UW GPA will be between 3.9 and 4.0. Weighted should be around 4.3.

SAT (new version): Most recent practice test - 1460 (760 math, 700 reading and writing) will take it for real for the first time in october, predicting 1560

ACT: recent practice test: 32. will take in october, predicting 34 or 35

SAT Subject tests: planning to take chemistry and math ii right after AP exams in may, and I expect to get in the 760 to 800 range

AP - taken or planning to take: APUSH (4), AP Stats (5), AP English Lang, AP English Lit, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, AP US Gov and Politics, AP Calc AB, AP Computer Science A, AP European History, AP Music theory, AP Macroeconomics

I am taking AP Calc junior year, senior year I am taking Calc 1151/1152 for OSU college credit.

Extra stuff that I have done / am doing / plan to do:

  • FIRST Robotics Competition for 4 years, lead programmer for 2 years (I get a credit for this every year)
  • FIRST Robotics Competition Dean’s list nominee (only 2 people from each team are nominated, by the team mentors)
  • FIRST Robotics Competition beta testing for 1 year so far, expecting 1-2 years more. (I get 1/2 credit every year)
  • I have volunteered as a judge and referee, and done setup/tear down of local FIRST Lego League tournament for multiple years
-I have volunteered at a local emergency homeless shelter for women and families while teaching children there about STEM with various activities
-3 year member of Key Club (international service club)
-4 year member of Science club, aiming for President senior year
-2 year member of Spanish club
-4 years in Marching and Concert band
-4 years in Wind Ensemble (group in concert band that plays more challenging music)
-3 year squad leader in Marching Band
-2 year member of National Honors Society
-3 years in Garden club, co-founder and co-officer/leader
-Planning on volunteering with Pelotonia (columbus based; raises money with the goal of ending cancer) for 2 years
-2 years on Principal Advisory’s Council (what it sounds like)

Languages - partially fluent in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, German

  • currently able to code in C++, I am working on Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML.

Other - skipped 8th grade (I’m not sure if it’s relevant), identified as “gifted” (not sure if that’s relevant either). I went to a Summit in Europe last year to discuss innovation in education - the summit itself is not an achievement, but I submitted a project and earned lunch with the keynote speaker (Sir Ken Robinson) along with around 20 other students, out of the 1,300 or so that attended the summit. Not sure if it’s relevant haha sorry.

No job experience. I am planning to work part time once I turn 16.

I am interested in studying Statistics, CS, biomed engineering, Economics, or Aerospace engineering. Stuff like that.

SCHOOLS:
Ohio State University
Georgia Tech
UCLA
UC Berkeley
Stanford
University of Southern California
Vanderbilt
Caltech
Rice
Duke
Purdue

I know it’s a lot but any help is definitely appreciated!

Ohio- Safety
GTECH- High Safety low mid
UCLA- Haven’t done much research on them
UC Berkely- ^^^
Stanford: High reach can’t be that 3% acceptance rate
Southern California: Again sorry I mostly care about Eastern Colleges
Vandy: Mid
Caltech: Mid reach
Rice: mid/ reach but i do believe you can get in
Duke: Same as rice
Purdue: THEY GIVE GOOD SCHOLARSHIPS - Low to high mid

Yo even if its not what you want to study, if you are completely fluent in three languages write an essay on that crap
Hard to rank completely without actual scores, but the ec’s are really good so far. What I would recommend is joining a club or one you’re already in and push for a national / state level award as hard as you possibly can

Thanks! @RoadTriptoCollege2017

For the UCs, consider the following:

Caltech: reach
Rice: reach
Duke: low reach
Purdue: low match

*This is assuming you score your predictions, which is going to be a hard thing to do. I was scoring consistent 33-34s on my practice tests and got a 32 on the real one (probably because of the pressure of taking the real test).
