I already wrote my essay and it’s pretty good, as are my recommendations! I know my GPA is pretty bad, but I think I have a pretty good SAT score and solid ECs. I spent a lot of my time on my Etsy business and that’s something that I really enjoy doing.

I want to apply to UC Davis, University of Washington (in state), UT Austin, NYU, Illinois - urbana champaign, UCSD, Boston University, USC, Georgetown (dream school!), university of Michigan, and Carnegie Mellon.
I want to major in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering w/ Premed.

I know that some of them like georgetown and cmu might not be possible, but please let me know what other schools would be matches for me!

A low GPA is not the end of the world. Your test scores are not good, they are great. The first glance at your stats might lead an admissions officer to question how hard you studied in high school. Your odds are very good except at CMU, Georgetown, and Michigan and even at these schools with solid ECs and great test scores it will boil down to how strong your essays are and how well you “package” yourself

3.9 UC Gpa

Are the UC’s affordable for you as an OOS applicant with no FA?

Excellent test scores, great EC’s, GPA a bit on the low side for UC’s as an Engineering major. You should have no problem getting an acceptance at UCD for Environmental Science. Environmental Engineering which is a minor under the Civil Engineering major will be slight harder. UCD likes high GPA’s and waitlisted/rejected many qualified applicants with high test scores but lower than average UC GPA’s.

UCSD is probably a high match for the same reason, a lower than average UC GPA.

You look like a qualified applicant and I wish you the best of luck. Make sure all these schools are affordable by running the Net Price calculator.

I would most definitely be needing Financial Aid and I am not completely sure how FA works but my brother got a full ride at NYU because our family income is < 30K. His stats were similar to mine.

Do not waste your time applying to the UC’s since you will not get any financial aid. They are generous to in-state low income applicants but not OOS.
