Impressive qualifications! Are you considering ED? Have you visited. From what I’ve read on CC, WashU likes applicants who really want to be there as first choice. And you have stats that are worthy of an Ivy/Stanford, but those are reaches for everybody. Considering NW or Chicago?

@PetulaClark Thanks  I’m EDing to Columbia and EAing to UChicago but I’d like to know my chances for WashU. I just visited WashU today and had an interview. Do you know what they want from an interview?

Kids with stats like yours and applying to WashU are hard to judge. The adcom may think you’re really wanting to go to NW, UChicago, or the Ivies and defer you. Fair or not and true or not, WashU has a reputation for yield protection.

If you were applying ED, then I’d say you’d be a safe bet to get in unless you really messed up the interview or your essay was unequivocally horrible.

My D got in ED with just a tad bit lower scores and ECs not as impressive as yours. We think ED helped her chances out quite a bit but we can’t prove that.

Great advice from @ChicagoSportsFn. Wash will assume you are applying somewhere else ED. If you do not get into Columbia ED and get deferred/wait-listed at Wash, be sure to stay in contact and let them know you really want to go there. Visiting WashU and interviewing was the best thing you could do to show interest. Would you choose WashU or Chicago?

What about applying ED to WashU instead of Columbia? That’s the question only you can answer. WashU and peers like to nab the Ivy-caliber applicants who go ED. Being Ivy-caliber is no guarantee you get in, and being Asian female is the most competitive category. Whatever happens, you are headed to great university.

omg we are similar! but im applying to wash u ed tho… best of luck
