Hey! Your extracurriculars are excellent, but your GPA and ACT are a bit lacking. Although, they should not be a problem for those schools. You are also an URM, which is great.

American- Very Good Shot
Boston U- Average Shot
GW- Vergy Good Shot
Hamilton- Definite Shot
Northeastern- Weak Shot
Reed College- Good Shot
Tulane- Average Shot
Wake Forest- Weak Shot

Chance back?

^ Interesting. The college with the lowest acceptance rate received the most lenient appraisal.

This has been said before, but your extracurriculars are amazing. Absolutely perfect. Your GPA is low, but your test scores are great. A great essay and recs go REALLY far, so don’t lose hope despite all of these “chance” posts. I see you went ED2 to Hamilton, and I think you have a VERY VERY good shot at getting accepted. If not though, I think you have a good chance of getting into all of these schools, though you may have a tough time at Northeastern, Boston, and Tulane. Good luck, and chance back!

Hamilton’s middle-range ACT appears as 31-33 . . .

. . . placing the college easily within the nation’s top 50 schools by the standardized scoring of their students:

Considering the facts available, the above predictions are strange.

@sneak12 : You will be highly likely to get into one or more of your choices, with Hamilton, on paper, being your greatest reach. Good luck!

Thank you all! I appreciate the help guys

Good chances at all of them. I think you will get into Hamilton ED2, but your UW GPA is a bit lower than their average.

Leery of chances given by other HS students? For a first-approximation of your chances, check your target school’s Common Data Set section C9 for test scores and C11 for GPA; these are data from the most recently reported freshman class. Compare yourself to the 25th and 75th percentiles for approximate reach/match/safety categories. Google finds the Common Data Set. These numeric factors will generally account for 20% to 100% of admission criteria, depending on the school’s policies.

Anyone else have other input to provide?

The combination of your GPA and ACT is too low for many of these schools. You’re probably not getting into GWU, Reed or American. I’d say you’re not getting into Hamilton either, but I’m not sure what boost your application will receive from ED II.

I’m afraid the high-schoolers chancing you in this thread in the hopes you’ll chance them back are overestimating your chances. Good luck, though. There’s a good chance you’ll get into at least one of NE, Tulane, BU and Wake Forest, which are all good schools.

@Ghostt my schools naviance has shown the average stats for people who got in to be lower than mine at schools like American and George Washington
