UT Austin: Definitely a high reach. 15%.
A&M: High match to low reach. 35%
Texas Tech: A solid match. 50%
Colorado Boulder: Low match to high safety. 60%.
@KingBibi Thanks so much for your Input! Mind me asking what am I truly lacking my UT? I am curious and do you believe I could get accepted to my major?
@Johnnieboy50 What major are you applying to? Your main problem at UT is that, pretty simply, both your GPA and SAT score are quite low for their standards. The rest of your application is fine, but without the stats, it’s going to stay a reach.
@KingBibi Got you! But a try is all the worth! The real question is that do you feel confident I could get admitted to A&M for chemical engineering?
UT Austin: Unlikely you get in, your GPA and SAT are well below their averages.
A&M: Maybe you get in, but still going to predict rejection.
Texas Tech: I’ll guess you et accepted, your ECs will probably carry you in here.
Colorado Boulder: I’ll say accepted, it is OOS though so you likely won’t get aid.
On the whole, your ECs and otherwise are good, but your raw stats aren’t quite at the level that a lot of these schools are looking for, especially in engineering. Being a URM may help a little bit, but maybe not as much as other places since you’re in texas. Good luck regardless.
