Chance me, please!

Hi! I am a junior student now, but would like to know my chances/how I should improve before applying to schools. Neither of my parents can contribute to my education, so I really need scholarships!

Ok I will be completely honest in saying that because you are African American and financially disabled that is a huge plus for scholarships. You need to do heavy research and apply for as many as possible. You really should try and bring up that SAT math score it helps a lot. I find it interesting that you are taking AB and then BC next year. It is really quite pointless because AB covers 1 semester of college calculus and then BC is just 1.5 semesters. You will be relearning a lot. If your school offers multi work out a plan and learn the BC material on your own and go straight to multivariable calc, it will help in the long run. For someone who is short on money getting those courses out of the way will possibly enable you to graduate early. Top tier schools aren’t really looking for the sciences you are taking. You should try and get Chem Bio and Physics I assume you’ve probably already done two of the three. I would reconsider choosing such a specific major. It is important to keep your options open and learn if that career is going to give you a career where the price of college is worth it. Definitely consider instate or state schools that tend to have lower tuitions and those who offer racially based scholarships. I am not an expert as I am in a bracket that is actually discriminated against in college admissions( i am half asian). It seems like you have a really good chance to earn some real scholarship money. Part of applying to college is discovering who you are and what you want to be, you need to convey that with conviction and tenacity. Best of luck.
