It would REALLY help to get your GPA and ACT higher, but you already know that. Otherwise I think you are

paddling upstream.

Notre dame is a total crap shoot. they accept rich people and legacys over good people and applicants so don’t get your hopes up.

Work on getting the ACT up for sure. See the class profile below.

I agree that luck does play a part in admission to ND. They reject just as many legacies and valedictorians as they accept. My daughter was accepted and we are neither rich or a legacy. My daughter was accepted with only 5 AP classes at a rigorous catholic high school. The Valedictorian of her class is graduating with 12 AP classes. I would try to get your ACT up to a 33/34. This should help. ND wants kids who understand their core values. This needs to be reflected in your essays. Interest is also important so visit if you can. If you can’t make sure your GC mentions that you could only afford to visit the schools you are accepted at. ND also host Web Seminars. Make sure they have your contact information and log into the seminars. Also only apply REA if you think your applications is in the top 10% of all applications. During REA we were told that there would be 5000 applications. They would accept about 1200. Of the 1200. 25% were athletes, 30% legacy & siblings, 25% would be people of color & international students. With half of the remaining being Male and the other half Female the odds were small. They deferred 800 and outright rejected 3000. My daughters GC told her to only apply REA if your stats were about the 75th percentile for ND. You can also ask the ND admissions rep for your area their recommendation on when to apply. Read their profile online and get to know them as a person.
