As thalaya alluded to, research Tulane carefully, as the school really emphasizes an applicant’s level of interest, knowledge and enthusiasm for it. Tulane is proud of its high quality of life and "happy students"distinctions, so it is willing to take a small hit on stats in order to have people who will contribute positively to that atmosphere. IImportantly, community service in New Orleans is an integral part of the educational experience so they look for people with strong ECs in community service. A penchant for an interdisciplinary approach to your education is something the committee looks very favorably at, in addition to an interest in foreign languages and international studies.
