Hi, I’m going into my senior year and wondering what are my chances at clemson
I’m from Texas
GPA 3.97 uw/ 4.45 w
SAT 1390 with a 720 math and 670 English
I’m ranked 3 of 455
EC: founder and president of Prevent Animal Worls Suffering(PAWS)
President of Big Little
Varsity cheer 3 years
Cheer Captain 1 year
JV soccer 2 years
7 APs
4 Dual Enrolement classes
the rest are honors
And applying for engineering
I really don’t know much, but I will tell you that my son’s SAT is 1400 and his class rank is lower (about top 11%) at am extremely competitive school. He’ll have similar DC and APs. I think they value grades more than SAT so you are better situated. Mine is not engineering, and I know that degree is more competitive so that may be a bit tougher for you. We were invited to Discover Clemson and were given many assurances (though not guarantees) that he would be accepted. (We were invited because he had already sent his SAT score in April). You will hear plenty of comments on this page that people with high scores don’t get in, but I honestly wouldn’t worry too much and I am not worried for mine. But by all means don’t consider it a safety school. You also need to go visit this Fall…have been told they like to see you make a connection.
I would be shocked if you didn’t get in! I don’t know much about the SAT because I’m an ACT girl but I looked up your score conversion chart and you have the equivalent of a 31 ACT which is the same as me! I applied this year too. We are a little above average in this area. Your GPA is amazing as well and you have an incredible class rank. Trust me, Clemson wants students like you. Your stats are well above average and the things I mentioned are what Clemson mainly looks at. I hope this makes you feel better. I’m not too sure about this in terms of SAT scores, but anyone in the top 10% with above a 29 ACT gets a scholarship that will be sent via mail before February 15th. The first round of the highest scoring ACT people (those with above a 33) just received theirs this week. So I’m sure they have a range for SAT as well and you will surely be included in this next round of scholarships. This should be within the next month. Best of luck! Please let me know if the news is good!
