First question: can your parents afford the fees at the publics listed?
You are OOS or Full Fees for the UCs, Washington, and Georgia.
I actually think thank you are competitive to schools even above the ones you listed, thus far, you seem like a great applicant to even an Ivy, potentially. I would maybe branch up a bit more with the schools you apply to! Good luck.
Grades/GPA are in range for all of your schools, but it’s been a really weird year for admissions. You would be a good candidate with your stats for WashU every year, but students with your numbers were outright rejected this year.
I assume you mean Physics 1/2 as there is no Math 1/2 AP.
Also you are in the least favorable demographic for college admissions-the dreaded Chinese male. You will need to somehow distinguish yourself from other Chinese male applicants by how you present yourself in your application.
You might want to add schools like Case Western, URochester, and BU as matches just because of how insane the college application process has become.
I think that you are competitive at any university, including all of the ones on your list. However, I don’t see any actual safety on your list.
You are out of state for all of the public schools that you listed. As such, you don’t have an inexpensive school on your list. I would run the NPCs on all of them (or at least start with a few and see where you stand) unless you and your parents are fine with being full pay. Full pay may be somewhere around $280,000 for 4 years, and you should probably plan to not have a disaster even if it goes 5 years (~$350,000). With an income over $200,000, you might be full pay almost anywhere. Slightly more affordable schools might be in-state (SUNY’s), or in Canada (such as McGill, Waterloo, …), and these would probably be safer for admission also.
Also, spend some time thinking about a couple of safeties that you would be okay attending. For a high stats student it is easy to list reach schools – just list the top schools in the country for your intended major. Finding an appropriate safety in some cases is easy (if it is your in-state public flagship) but in some cases can take some thought.
Thank you for the help! I can afford the pay as I’ve been working pretty hard to pay for it myself + would take a loan from my parents rather than bank.
Otherwise, I recently hit 1M in sales in an AI/ML company I run, which I am really proud of. Should this be something I stress in applications or go for something else.
I’ll also look into the other colleges, these were mainly ones that I would hands down attend if given the chance lol.
Also I did mean Physics, I got confused with SATS. Also, should I mention my issues in 9th and 10th grade or is that unnecessary?
