Chance me please :-)

Please chance me for top schools, I am applying to Yale early action (but not expecting to get in to any top schools and am applying to state schools that I like very much).

GPA weighted: 4.84
unweighted: 3.98
APs: all 5s (Envi sci, french, english lang, world history, european history, us history) - AP Scholar with Distinction
ACT: 34 (36 english, 35 reading, 32 math and science, 9 writing)
I’ve taken as many APs as I can in my schedule (this year I’m taking 7).
SAT II: 780 lit, 700 world history (I don’t think I’ll report this), I also just took Math II and Bio M but I don’t think I did well
Secretary General (president) of MUN
Volunteering at same shelter since 5th grade
President of Korean Culture Club (I’m a white French girl, makes me different?), Korean Honor Society
Played piano since 3, play piano for school musicals
Did a Neuroscience summer program where we conducted neuroplasticity research
Brandeis Book Award
won first place in a writing contest about Korean culture

Other stuff: involved with local land conservancy since 7th grade, internship at their office + part of outreach program
Involved with my synagogue (I read Torah regularly in Hebrew, have given a couple sermons)
Camp counselor for synagogue weekend camps
Water polo (9-10), Most Improved Award and Coach’s Award

In all honesty I haven’t done anything for the purpose of college admission up until this point, I did everything out of genuine interest. I also moved here from France when I was 8, so I speak both French and English fluently, am learning Korean and can read and write Hebrew. Thank you for helping me out

Also finalist for Girls’ State

Are you a citizen of France? If so, are you aware that you pay “citizen of Canada” prices if you attend McGill? Your stats would make it a safety for you, your being bilingual would make Montreal more interesting as a place to live for four years, and it would probably cost less than your in-state university unless you get a really good scholarship in-state.

Yale is of course a reach for everyone, but your stats do give you a chance. I would expect that most applicants are pretty similar to you in stats so your chances are probably not all that far off from the acceptance rate.

“I haven’t done anything for the purpose of college admission up until this point, I did everything out of genuine interest.”

Good for you. I think that this is exactly the right thing to do, and might improve your chances for Yale.

Interesting you should say this, McGill is my top choice for that reason! I would qualify for Canadian tuition. The sole reason I am applying in the US is because there tends to be more student-faculty interaction.

I agree, I think that going with your natural interests can lead you to something interesting on its own. I don’t know if what I’ve done is Yale-worthy, but at least I’ve succeeded in enriching my own life and those in my clubs (hopefully). I am interested in Yale because of its Ethics, Politics, and Economics major, of which there is no exact replica elsewhere.
