My SSAT scores are really low, I don’t think I may stand a chance to be honest. I’ve been attending International/American Schools my entire life. My GPA is low as well.

Hooks are advantages that are based on things that you can’t control.

Hooks:

  • Under-represented minority status (African American or Latino)
  • Legacy status (meaning that a parent or two attended the school)
  • First generation (usually for colleges tho)
  • Being able to pay full tuition (arguable)
    There are many more but you get the idea (hopefully)

As an Asian applicant, you have fierce competition. I recommend taking the test again and your essays should speak to your intellectual curiosity and how kind of a person you are.
