If you want a merit scholarship you had to apply by Nov 1st, did she do that and was she a finalist for the JES scholarship?
Finalists were invited to come to Scripps this Thursday and Friday.

Scripps accepts 46% of all applicants according to USNews. A 1290 on a 1600 SAT is sufficient for admission. Your daughter, therefore, should get in .

Garrity's prediction seems to presume that the majority of applicants' SATs are not also sufficient for admission. I don't know numbers or details off the top of my head, but all of the Claremont schools have fairly self-selected applicant pools, so this can't be assumed.

That said, your daughter's grades look great. Her SATs are below Scripps' average (math is the clear weak spot), but her GPA is above average. Her ECs look fairly run-of-the-mill in terms of their nature, but demonstrate great dedication and service. The language-related EC stands out as being very Scripps-friendly.

It might come down to what kind of applicant pool the school has this year. Your daughter's chances look just fine. Not outstanding, but by no means poor. She has a good shot. Best of luck through the waiting, and congrats to your daughter on her achievements :-)
