Young Achievement Australia Business Skills Program
It?s an enterprise learning program, during which groups of students run their own small business over a 24 week period, while guided by industry representatives who act as mentors. Students experience 1st hand all stages of a commercial business cycle, including: selling shares and raising capital, electing management and operational teams, writing a business plan, designing, producing and marketing goods and services, implementing effective management systems in key areas (i.e. finance, manufacturing, HR, marketing and the environment), producing an annual report, liquidating and returning capital and dividend to shareholders.

I was the Managing Director of my company Ying + Yang, made up of 25 members. We outsourced the manufacturing, and then marketed and sold the ?Snug Mug?- a unique, sort of tear-dropped shape mug that you cradle in your hands, packaged in tissue paper and a stylish box, with a recipe card. We made a total income of $6335.86 and a gross profit of $3877.45. Earning per share was $4.20.

At the YAA awards nights, we were nominated for numerous awards. We won at a state level the Manufacturing award and we were nominated, with 4 other companies, for the Best Company award.

Besides being totally nerve racking at times it was a completely once in a life time experience, and a lot of fun!

Awards:
High Distinction- for top 1% in Australian and NZ Economics Competition
3 Gold Medals for International Mythology Exam
Perfect Score for International Latin Exam ? to these Latin ones mean anything?

Thanks so much for reading my rant!
