Chance me please

Young Achievement Australia Business Skills Program
It?s an enterprise learning program, during which groups of students run their own small business over a 24 week period, while guided by industry representatives who act as mentors. Students experience 1st hand all stages of a commercial business cycle, including: selling shares and raising capital, electing management and operational teams, writing a business plan, designing, producing and marketing goods and services, implementing effective management systems in key areas (i.e. finance, manufacturing, HR, marketing and the environment), producing an annual report, liquidating and returning capital and dividend to shareholders.

I was the Managing Director of my company Ying + Yang, made up of 25 members. We outsourced the manufacturing, and then marketed and sold the ?Snug Mug?- a unique, sort of tear-dropped shape mug that you cradle in your hands, packaged in tissue paper and a stylish box, with a recipe card. We made a total income of $6335.86 and a gross profit of $3877.45. Earning per share was $4.20.

At the YAA awards nights, we were nominated for numerous awards. We won at a state level the Manufacturing award and we were nominated, with 4 other companies, for the Best Company award.

Besides being totally nerve racking at times it was a completely once in a life time experience, and a lot of fun!

Awards:
High Distinction- for top 1% in Australian and NZ Economics Competition
3 Gold Medals for International Mythology Exam
Perfect Score for International Latin Exam ? to these Latin ones mean anything?

Thanks so much for reading my rant!

You're ranked quite poorly in your high school even though it is competitive. Your ECs show that you are somewhat affluent. You have the typical 2-4% chance. I don't see anything that you can offer them. Also, in six months 25 kids only could make $3800 on the 'business' that you are trying to blow up? I wouldn't center an application around that, which it appears you are. If you did that, I assure you would drop below 1%.

Thanks for the reply
1st off, I agree that some of my ranks aren't so good...
Also, I'm not centring my application around the business (I just gave an explanation so you could understand what it entailed)...I'm centring it around my singing and the importance of protecting human rights for me.
But I don't see how you cold conclude my family is affluent. To start the business, members of the public bought $2 shares. And I don't think you should be making judgements as to how much is and isn't easy to make in a business if you haven't done so yourself. It is extremely hard.

But thanks for your honest assessment

I'm just saying that with the rank, HYP are out of reach. If you want Ivy try cornell, dartmouth, or penn.

I beg to differ, since Managing Director of your own company is something extremely unique. Don't worry about your rank and focus on the things that single you out. Attempt to incorporate them into your essays and personal statements and you have a great shot-especially since you are an international student. Through you should bear in mind that international students' admission is also dependent upon the financial aid they request (in colleges apart from Ivies that is).

On the whole, you seem like an ample stand-out to me. You just have to play your cards carefully.
