youve surely got a good chance at most of the universities provided that your SATI is more than 2300 and maybe a perfect score on atleast 2 SATIIs.
Without a good SATI and II all that is nuthing.
Its very difficult to tell about the ivy leagues. I think it all depends on their mood.. =P they can reject a perfect student and even take an ordinary if they will.. so cant say anything about the ivy leagues.
To just increase your chances:
STAY ACTIVE THE WHOLE SUMMER AND THE WHOLE YEAR AHEAD... stay as active as possible...
try out for most of the stuff
but concentrate on your true "passion". make sure your ECs reflect your passion for a specific field. And if your interning, do it where you can ehance your experience for future. For example if you want to become a lawyer, do it at some senior lawyers not at a medical store etc.
and o ya BE HONEST IN YOUR APPLICATION
thats all i think i can say
goood luck!!

he has a 35 on the act. He doesnt need anything on the sat. i'd say if youre essays et al are as good as you say they are you'll probably get into most of your colleges.

If I did well on the ACT, is it to my advantage to take an SAT as well? I am from the midwest, and am somewhat unfamiliar with SATs. Ideally I would avoid them, but if it will give me an advantage I will look into it.

Thanks for the information so far, anyone else care to weigh on on my chances? Thanks for all of the help!

definitely. theyll love that youre from a nowhere state. no offense :P. but colleges like that. its another state so they can say we have students from all 50 states and 125 countries. definitely got a shot. take some SAT II's. do very well. keep it up

No, your "lack" won't hurt you seeing as colleges judge you based on your specific school. If you take all 5 APs offered, they're going to be a lot more impressed with that than with someone who takes 8 APs at a school that offers 20.

Like COlsen573, I'd say that coming from WI should definitely help you out with schools that are outside your region (Penn in your case... Harvard and MIT to a lesser extent). Also, being a first generation college student will also appeal to colleges. If you really want to go to Penn, by the way, I recommend you do early decision to the school... Penn is one of those places where applying early gives you a definite boost. Chances on a scale of: high reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

University of Pennsylvania... SEMI-REACH.
Northwestern... SEMI-REACH.
Harvard... REACH.
Ann Arbor... GOOD FIT.
University of Chicago... SEMI-REACH.
MIT... REACH.
Washington University in St. Louis... SEMI-REACH.
Minnesota- Twin Cities... SAFETY.
