I am slightly confused, you say earlier on that you are white but then you list Hispanic NHS? I am going to write this assuming you are applying white since that is what you originally said, but let me know if that is not the case.

Overall I like your profile except for one thing, and that is ACT score. I would highly recommend you re-take the ACT and take the SAT because I think that could be make or break. If you could get to a 33 or 34 ACT I would feel pretty good on your chances. Good luck!

I'm in Hispanic NHS because at my school all you have to do is basically get A's in spanish class. Yah, I'm very white, as in freckles and red hair. Thanks so much for your advice though!!

I agree with Irish - get the ACT up a bit, and you'll have a decent chance.

An aside about Georgetown and its status as a Catholic university. notre Dame played Georgetown in the Big East baskeball tourney this year, and my son, who is a sophomore at Notre Dame and a member of the Varsity Band, travelled with the Band to New York for the tournament.

He said the joke going around about Georgetown was this:

Q: What's the difference between a Georgetown student and a Protestant?
A: Nothing, but at least the Protestant knows he's not a Catholic. :)

Notre Dame > Georgetown

if georgetown is your reach then so is notre dame! i take extreme offense to that lol

Georgetown is more secular than UC-Berkeley! lol

Q: What do Gtown and ND students have in common?
A: They both got into Georgetown.

Haha okay sorry. I probably realized that or I wouldn't have been asking for my chances in the first place. If I got into both I would for sure go to Notre Dame.

I'm retaking the ACT oct 27, shooting for a 32. any other opinions?

Pay attention to the essay--it can be very important!
