wow that was pretty fast! what about SLO. pomona will probably be a safety right?

Oh yea, Pomona is easily a safety for someone like you.

if UCSB is a safety then wouldn't riverside be a safety too. i thought UCR was easier then SB. also i am a senior right now; are there any ways of increasing my chances of getting into a UC

Yea, I just wrote it out wrong. UCR is easily a safety, but you get my drift.

thanks anybody else have any opinions

I hope Rutgers Hopeful was seriously kidding about Pomona's being a safety.

It's not a safety for anyone!

but is it a safety for me. i am talking about cal poly pomona not pomona college

anybiody else have opinions?

bump... i need more opinions

Your UC GPA is 3.7727 (you got 36 grade points sophomore year, 41 more junior year and you get 6 more for the 6 semesters of AP courses you took. this makes 83 grade points divided by 22 semester courses taken during those two years = 3.7727).

Your SAT I score is 1710 (shooting for 1800 next time). Your SAT IIs scores are likely to total around 1500 (the UC system only counts your best two scores). This give you total test scores that count of 2210 currently and 2300 or so after your retake.

This makes your chances at the schools about as follows:

UCB/UCLA--Slight Reach to Reach
UCSD--Slight reach
UCSB/UCD/UCI--Match
UCSC--Safe Match to Match
UCR/UCM--Safety
CalPolySLO--Match
CalPolyPomona--Safety to Safe Match

Keep in mind that engineering is slightly tougher than other majors (except at the Cal Poly schools). Thus you need to be at the high end of your range for these chances to hold. This means that getting your score on the SAT I up from 1710 to 1800 could be what makes the difference at UCSB, UCI, and UCD.

Good luck.

P.S. Pomona College would be a Reach--but Cal Poly Pomona is a safety to safe match. I hope people aren't confusing these two obviously quite different schools.

thanks. if anybody have any different opinions please post
